Merry Christmas

Well, it's always been slow after PSP World Cup but I have to admit to slacking a bit. Just popping on now to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays as well as a Happy New Year. Hope Santa brings you all the paint you could ever use and that back-up marker that everyone knows you need.

A Moment of Silence please

It's a terrible day for the local paintball scene. Due to the actions of a single bad apple, the fields at FMJ, both speedball and woodsball have been taken away. We were able to play thanks to the generosity of the Sterling Fibers company that owns the land. Someone decided to shoot the water tower on said land and they no longer want to deal with irresponsible folks shooting up their property.
So please observe a moment of silence as we all mourn the passing of one of the best fields in the panhandle. Also take a minute to thank everyone who put their blood sweat and tears into making it what it was, it was truly a labor of love and took a lot of work to set up and tear down each weekend.

Playing Inside, on the couch

NPPL Championship Paintball 2009 should be out for most all console systems now, go pick it up if it's getting too cold for the real thing. Or if you want to work on your game strategy without all the outlay for gas and paint.
There aren't many reviews out, and the ones that are out aren't very favorable, but if you liked the old Greg Hastings games this is more of the same, right down to the wipe mechanics.

New resource for local paintballers

There's a new site up for local paintballers. Probably a good source as any for planning FMJ days until the pensacolapaintball site gets back up. It's called 850 Mafia and while it's pretty scarce on info right now, it's new, so give it some time and more than anything, sign up and contribute!

Vacation, after the fact

No updates last week cause I was on vacation and don't really have anyone who'll post when I'm away from the internets. Hopefully nothing big was missed since it was Cup weekend. Posts should resume this week.
Updated the gun weights post with the weight for a stock Vice. Pretty light gun, can't wait to shoot it.

The DM9

The DM9 is out! It's running about $1350, so it ain't cheap, but DM's have never been inexpensive. Try clicking some of our ads and see if anyone has it in stock.

Updated HotShots tourney post

Updated the Hotshots 3-Man post with the official flyer and a link to the forum post over on the HotShots website.
Here's our updated post. A link to HotShots main page is on the right side of the page, along with the link to all current tourneys (that we know of, email us if we're missing one!)

Not much happening in August?

When there's nothing new posted for a couple weeks aside from when you can catch paintball on tv, you know it's a slow time for the locals. I blame the heat and constant forecasts for thunderstorms.
If you know something that needs to be posted up so more people will know about it let us know by emailing us at nwflpaintball@gmail.com. Until then we're looking forward to September with some lower temps and a couple tournaments!
We've also added a links section to the right. Again, if we missed anyone, let us know about it.
